Having fun with color on your eyes and lips is one way to standout in a crowd. Here are some tips from Mark makeup artist Mai Ouynh.
– Go for deep hues: In cooler months, pick rich jewel tones, like amethyst or emerald for your eyes and ruby tones for your lips.
– Play up one feature: Choose either your eyes or your lips, but not both. The rest of your face should be soft to balance out the dramatic effect.
– Pick the right texture: Shimmery or satin finishes are the most flattering for colored shadow and liner. As for lips, skip gloss if it’s not summer and go for a matte or long-wear lipstick instead.
– Soften it up: Blend shadow or liner with a cotton swab or blot away a bit of lipstick with a tissue.
